Salem Students to Complete Assignments and Lessons OnLine During School Building Closings 

 Dear Parents, Students, Faculty, and Friends,

We intend to teach and educate online during the school building closures due to the COVID-19 Virus.  Students can communicate with their teachers and access their lessons and assignments through any internet connected device; including cell phones, tablets, laptop computers, desktop computers, and I-Pads.  Teachers have posted three weeks of lessons for students to complete through Verge on the Dekalb County School District site.  Directions to Verge are:

1.  Go to the Dekalb County School District site at

2.  Scroll down to the bottom of the page.

3.  Click on the gold colored rocket   

4.  Click on the words "Log in with Active Directory"

5.  Scroll down to the section "DCSD Digital Learning Tools".

6.  Click on the V for Verge.  VERGE icon

7.  Click on the word "Courses" in the black bar across the top of the page.

8.  Scroll down to your teacher's name and click on their name to view assignments and lessons.

   9.  If students need to input their username and password, their username is the student ID or Lunch Number with the letter "s" in front of the number, then  (  Their password is whatever they set it to be.  If they cannot log on, they need to contact Dekalb Information Technology Help Desk at at 678-676-1188 or

 Dekalb County Schools Will Provide Daily Meal Service for Students During Closure

The Dekalb County School District will begin providing daily meal service for students on Monday, March 16, 2020.  All Dekalb County students can receive a free bagged lunch and snack daily, Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the following sites:

Salem Middle School follows and enforces the Dekalb County Dress Code which is featured in the Student Handbook.  Additionally, Salem does not allow students to wear clothing to school that is torn, ripped, shredded, tattered, or distressed.  Please read the Student Code of Conduct book or read the Dekalb County Dress Code on the Parent Page (click on the red tab at the top of this page).  Salem does not require uniforms.
